After three months' retirement, pottering about or reading the entire newspaper I realised I needed to do something creative beyond my gardening and DIY tasks.

I began to ‘doodle’ with a pencil and got locked into the process. The drawings looked like the subject matter and friends and relations started to comment that I had been blessed with a gift. Following art lessons, I became more confident and at a standard where I could confidently produce paintings good enough for public viewing.
